Books and Breakfast | October | #KillTheVote | North STL

  • YMCA

We dedicate 2 Saturdays per month to #BooksandBreakfast, a community event for the Greater St. Louis area. The goal of B&B is to cultivate an environment that promotes connectivity and open dialogue surrounding social justice issues, political theory, and educational development.

By providing positive images and informative literature we will increase awareness and enhance skills needed to actively combat local issues. Awareness, healthy breakfast and lots of hugs.

This month we will discuss voting in local and national elections, the electoral college, and ways to be politically involved outside of voting.
Please come out and join us for our Books and Breakfast program on the Northside from 10a-12p at O'Fallon Park YMCA.

*Feel free to dress up if you'd like.
*Raffle for those who bring back 2 or more books.

FREE books + FREE breakfast.

#REMEMBERHER - Honoring the lives of Black Women

  • City Garden

As we approach a year after our sister Sandra Bland's life was cut short by the violence of white supremacy, we #REMEMBERHER and ALL Black women that have been taken as a result of state or community violence.

There have been ~ 11 Black women killed this year by police.

There have been ~ 13 Black women killed this year in St. Louis by community or domestic partners.

We will be honoring their lives. We encourage you to join us if you are in St. Louis. If you are outside, we encourage your to take some time to speak their names. If you would like to tweet us the names of beloved Black women that guide your spirit, we will amplify. We must remember them.
